Thorpe Capital Group, LLC was founded in March of 2000 as a corporate finance consultancy. In 2001, after nearly a year of work, Thorpe Capital Group launched an NASD registered investment banking unit, Thorpe Capital, Inc. Since that time, Thorpe Capital Group has become a leading local investment banking firm, providing a range of investment banking services, including capital raising through private placements, mergers and acquisitions advisory services as well as valuation services.

In 2004, Thorpe Capital Group launched Thorpe Capital Management, a registered investment advisor, registered with the state of Utah. In the spring of 2005, Thorpe Capital Management launched its first managed fund, TCM Special Fund I, LP, which seeks to maximize returns by investing in a portfolio of equity investments in companies that are perceived by the market to be distressed. TCMSFI employs a proprietary analytical model to each company prior to investment.
