PRWeb

PRWeb™ was founded in 1997 by David McInnis to solve a big, gnarly media problem:

“Where did my press release go?”

This question plagues startups and Fortune 500 firms worldwide. PRWeb solves that problem by ensuring clients the most internet and search engine optimized press release distribution platform in the world. Then we add additional performance assets that further increase visibility, syndication and compatibility.

We can confidently say that we deliver more media exposure and direct-to-consumer results than anyone in the industry for a fraction of the cost.

Not convinced? Simply do a web search for us. The results tell our story. And you’ll see the majority of the results are all about you, our clients.

Everything we do and every technology we develop accelerates your media message into the places your customers look to find your products, services and solutions.

Bringing media to the masses. Complex internet solutions made simple. Your message, freed from the restrictions of corporate firewalls and pushed into the web through RSS, email, photo, podcast and video. That’s the power PRWeb International has brought to more than 60,000 journalists and media outlets, 170,000 clients and 50,000,000 visitors. In English, French, Spanish and Chinese.

Our mantra is simple: PRWeb is The Online Visibility Company©.

Our stable of degreed editors helps maintain journalistic integrity of your message. Every press release, podcast, image and video message is run through a rigorous editorial process. As a result, our viewership seeking quality, timely information continues to increase at an unprecedented rate.

Focus
PRWeb maintains the industry lead through an intense focus on these core elements:

Media Exposure: Getting your message to media professionals, onto the desks of the journalists and to the top of news sites and search engines is of primary importance. Our clients have achieved articles, write-ups and interviews in nearly every major and industry publication directly attributable to their exposure on PRWeb.com.  E-mail distribution is still an important part of what we do.  Our robust distribution platform is capable of 14 million outbound journalist emails a day. PRWeb is the only newswire to offer journalists the ability to create keyword or phrase based RSS feeds to help them track industries and topics of interest with increased granularity.

Empowering Technologies:

Underlying all of our media solutions are remarkable technologies. Our development team is uniquely trained to delve deep into the web and search engines to constantly improve our methods of delivering your message online. These technologies perform the heavy lifting that makes PRWeb easy to use and ultimately effective. Reliability is also a hallmark of the PRWeb platform.

Human Touch: Every piece of your content delivered via PRWeb’s media platform has been viewed, reviewed or edited by a live human being. You can call the company any hour of the day and speak with an editor onsite in our Ferndale, Washington offices. Like our press release platform: we didn’t ADD customer service and editorial support. It’s an inherent part of our company culture.

Real results: Press releases are no longer shackled by the media departments of the major publications. With the internet, you can reach your viewers right where they work, research and shop: on the web. We are so confident in our results that we provide a complete money-back guarantee if we don’t deliver. We set the standard in online visibility.

Our Clients
PRWeb serves a diverse and growing body of users ranging from Fortune and Global 500 customers to startups and single-person consulting firms. Our exclusive NewsPad.com press release search engine will return a broad spectrum of clients from every industry worldwide.

The Direct-to-Consumer Newswire
The PRWeb platform is different in that we specialize in “media bypass;” we get your message directly to your viewing public as well as to the media channel.  PRWeb brings the public back to “public relations.”

What is direct-to-consumer distribution?  It is making your company or organizational news highly visible where the ultimate consumer or end-user for your products and services live on the Internet.  How we do this is largely trade secret and some of it is patent pending.  Here’s a bit of what we can tell you.

  1.  50 Million Page Views Each Month –  Each month PRWeb delivers over 50 million page views of press release content from its sites, PRWeb and eMediaWire.  This is separate from the traffic that we don’t measure from our distribution network.  This is the highest online visibility of any commercial or non-commercial newswire according to third party metrics.
  2. Millions of RSS Feeds  -- Most commercial newswires have between one and a dozen RSS feeds.  Not PRWeb.  We have millions of these guys, most created by our visitors, including the mainstream media.  In addition to user generate RSS feeds, PRWeb provides roughly 280 categorized feeds over 20,000 corporate feeds.  PRWeb was, and may very well be the only commercial newswire to embrace Yahoo’s mRSS standard for delivering multimedia content associated with press releases.
  3. Live Feeds – We publish your information in real time direct to the Web sites where your customers live.
  4. Advanced Sitemap Technology – PRWeb stays on the leading edge of sitemap technology to assure our users that they get exposure in the search engines commensurate with their chosen distribution level.
  5. PPC and CPM Delivery – PRWeb has never been afraid to test new and innovative distribution strategies and partners.  Our PPC mix includes what used to be called Inktomi Trusted Feeds and is now part of Yahoo! Search Marketing.  We also partner with distribution partners on both a CPM and PPC basis to make sure that your news is highly visible on 3rd party blogs and RSS feeds.  Bottom line: we pay to deliver the right eyeballs to your story.

History
PRWeb was founded in the early days of what was referred to then as the World Wide Web.  Our goals and mission from our early days was easy to define: to help our users get the maximum visibility for their press releases and corporate news.

We would build a large base of free content in the form of corporate and organizational news. Then we would promote this content through well formulated search engine optimization strategies, making it highly visible in the existing and emerging search engines (these were the pre-Google days).  By driving traffic to our users’ news releases we served the users needs (increased visibility for their press releases) and our needs (the need to drive page views and associated advertising revenue).

Here is what we found:  We were only successful on the first half of that equation.  While we drove tons of traffic to online press releases we were never successful in generating real advertising revenue.

In 2000 and 2001 we decided to build on our success and continue to build out a toolset for maximizing our users press release visibility online.  We dropped our advertising based revenue model in favor for something completely new, especially to corporate America; affordable, scalable financial contributions not based on number of words or news channels, but on overall online visibility.  Essentially we asked our users to contribute financially to the service while we continued to build our suite of visibility services.  The response from our user base was overwhelmingly positive.  We reinvested every available dollar to build the very first online visibility platform for corporate news content.

Our approach started a revolution in online public relations that continues today.  These include Search Engine Optimization, Trackbacks, massive RSS syndication, auto PDF generation, PPC and CPM advertising using press releases, integrated landing page exposure within the press release page, multiple attachments at no extra cost, multiple content channels (text, images, podcast, video), custom RSS feeds, press release groupings... and the list goes on.
As a result we are the leader in online visibility for press releases and corporate news.

Today we continue our leadership into new areas of visibility.  With the introduction of our patent pending Web 2.0 technologies and tie-ins to the blogoshpere PRWeb is the first newswire to build a 360 degree communications platform.  Here are the new release that we have launched in 2006.

PRWebPhotowire -- Images in print. Your logo and brand at full-screen quality. PRWeb Photowire makes this possible. More important, your images are web-optimized, tagged with social bookmarks, and crawled by the search engine spiders to ensure you’re seen in your very best light. Linked to your press release, these images form yet one more sticky bond between you and your audience.

PRWebPodcast -- Music to your ears. Your message, your voice on iTunes, and through every high-value audio channel available. Our team of crack interviewers pulls the story from you that your audience wants to hear. Then we post-produce, clean it up, tag and push it into the web and blogosphere. One of the very fastest growing media types in the world. Produced and distributed with the power of PRWeb.

PRWebTV -- Moving pictures tell a big story. PRWebTV puts you front and center in the corporate media jungle. Professionally developed, these 3-10 minute on-site video productions make you the star, and share your story as only moving pictures can. Add the distribution power of PRWeb, YouTube, Yahoo! and Google Video, and you become the center of attention. A truly moving experience for you and your future clients.

TrackBack & PingBack Technology -- Connectivity. The cables that tie the web together, and you to your audience. PRWeb added social bookmarking, Technorati tags, Trackbacks and Pingback technologies to press releases all within the first quarter of 2006. Why? Because your press release is the heartbeat of your communication. And connecting to blogs and social bookmarking provide two-way communication with your PR. This is social dialogue of the highest order. An exclusive of PRWeb.

The Power of Half
PRWeb represents a new public relations function.  Commercial disclosure wire services are only doing about half of the job.  The fact is that company news can work much harder for your organization.  The press release is no longer just a media communications tool. It is often customer-ready content.

50% performance is not good enough anymore.  Now, more than ever it is critical for you to PRWeb your news so that it gets maximize visibility.  Make your news work harder. Add PRWeb to your current wire service and see your online visibility soar.
